Map Resource Guide

Learn how to read lanes, waves, neutral objectives, and rotation windows without getting lost in the map.

1. Start with the lane wave

  • The wave determines when you can move, push, or rotate safely.
  • Check which lane is pushing, which is collapsing, then decide whether you can leave.
  • If you cannot return to your job quickly, do not roam too far.

2. Then check resource points

  • Neutral resources and objectives tell the team where to converge.
  • You take resources to buy space, tempo, and numbers advantage, not to tick a box.
  • If your team cannot follow, fix the wave before committing to the resource.

3. Recognize rotation windows

  • Visible enemy positions and unguarded lanes are your rotation signals.
  • Before rotating, check which lane loses the most if you leave.
  • If your hero is mobile, rotation is part of your win condition, not an afterthought.

4. Turn the map into responsibilities

  • Frontline heroes should claim space, while backline heroes should protect output angles.
  • Control, peel, pressure, and cleanup decide where you should show up first.
  • When unsure, return to the place that keeps your team functioning.
